The Youth Internship Program is a training program for youth with a Senior High School standing(16-18 years of age ), out of school up to the age of the 22nd birthday. The program is intended to assist younger youth in obtaining job skills and to develop and increase his or her long term employability.

We've had a very successful history.
Along with assisting many of our local employers with their hiring needs,
we've helped hundreds of our young people work their way into terrific occupations.

The program goal is to place youth in positive work settings which will teach them the importance of basic work skills, such as punctuality, proper dress, attendance, positive work attitudes, etc. while also offering them a chance to learn valuable work skills that they may use to find future employment.

This program offers a full array of employment and training as well as educational services to eligible area youth.Work experience contracts are written between MPIC and local public and private nonprofit agencies. MPIC will cover payroll and Worker's Compensation payments for the youth for a maximum of 200 hours while they train at your work site. The work site's main responsibility is to develop a training outline, which MPIC will offer assistance with, as well as provide supervision and Supervisors are also responsible for submitting time sheets to the MPIC office. Work site supervisors will complete a supervisor orientation before a youth begins work, and will be given all of the necessary paperwork and information.

The program is limited to private, for-profit businesses.
